About

Sourcing a part shouldn't take a week.

MYCELA is an intelligent parts sourcing platform for manufacturing MSMEs. Tell it what you need in whatever form you have it, a part code, a description, or a set of dimensions, and get it quoted by dealers who stock it.

Why we built it

MYCELA started with a design engineer specifying parts for a machine.

Every component had to fit the design, sit inside the budget, and arrive before the build date. None of that information lives in one place, so the work became a loop: send enquiries, wait, find out the part he designed around has a ten week lead time, change the design to suit what is available, then collect and compare quotes and negotiate. Each pass costs days. Some cost a redesign.

The same gap shows up once the machine is running. A bearing fails, half the markings have worn off the housing, and now you need one piece today from someone who has it on the shelf and is willing to sell you a single unit rather than a minimum order of fifty.

Industrial procurement in India runs on phone calls, WhatsApp threads and personal relationships. It works, but it depends on who you happen to know and how much time you have to spend chasing. What's missing in both cases is the same: a fast path from what I need to who has it, at what price, by when.

What MYCELA does

We hold a validated catalogue carrying the specifications that matter for fitment, and a search system that understands a requirement the way it actually arrives:

  • By part code, including suffixes and equivalents across manufacturers.
  • By description, in ordinary language.
  • By size, when all you have is a vernier reading.

Buyers build a single list and we route it to dealers. One request, one consolidated response.

  • We do not hold stock. Dealers own their inventory, pricing and delivery terms.
  • We do not sell listings. Buyers see the right part, not the part that paid the most.
  • We verify specifications. Every record is checked against the manufacturer's published data before it goes live.

Where we are today

Live: bearings from SKF, NTN and FAG. Deep groove, tapered, spherical and cylindrical roller, needle roller and thrust, searchable by designation, by dimensions, or by equivalent across the three brands.

Coming: linear motion (profile rails, guide blocks and bushings), couplings, fasteners, seals and gaskets, and shop-floor consumables. Each one arrives with the same specification checking and cross-brand matching as bearings, rather than as a bare list of part numbers.

We add categories in the order buyers ask for them. Every search that returns nothing is logged and reviewed, so what gets built next is decided by what people came looking for and could not find.

Where we're going

We want a design engineer to be able to check price and availability before committing a part to a drawing, not after. Quotes in hours, not days.

Search stays free for buyers. Over time we will also know what this region keeps searching for and what it struggles to find. That is worth knowing for a dealer deciding what to keep on the shelf, and for a manufacturer deciding what to make more of.
